Conclusion

"Does the Muslim community deserve the negative light that they are frequently portrayed in, leading to unfounded racism and hate?" This was the question we set out to answer. The Answer?

NO!

Having examined the image Muslims are given in media, we can unequivocally state that the Muslim population of America does not deserve the inappropriate negativity cast in their direction. We have seen that fear plants a seed of hate within some Americans, who hypocritically jump on the anti-Muslim band wagon. Some media in particular show a clear bias against Muslims, to the point of stupidity. In the intro video to the hypocrisy section, when talking about the Oslo bombings, it was pointed out that Muslim is a safe choice when taking a wild guess as to who to blame in a terrorist act. Not even this is true. Liberal extremists in the United States commit four times as many acts of terror as the Muslim community. In fact, it is far more likely that an act of terror was NOT committed by a Muslim. And yet we view them as terrorists.

So what can be done?

David Cameron summed up the issue well, while simultaneously proposing a solution to the problem. You can read more about his speech at The Telegraph. Note he is speaking of terrorist attacks in Europe, not the United States.

A small subsection of a much larger population has tainted peoples perception of the Muslim population. Fueled by hate, following a pattern that has been present for millenia, the unpatriotic and unfair treatment of the Muslim community has to stop. By carefully reviewing the media we consume, by with holding judgement of a community because of the actions of one, and by banding together in a unified voice, we can end the villainous treatment of our brothers and sisters. As seen on the introductions page, quite a few already have, pointing out the hypocrisy and childishness of much of the main stream media. We stand with them, and invite you to join with us.

In the end, I think the band Freedom Call says it well.

"...We're breaking down the walls of hate...In union we are strong / A symphony for freedom and glory"

This is kind of big deal...

Will you join our symphony?
